Wasco, Oregon
Wasco lies east of Portland on Interstate 84, which parallels the Columbia river. It is a130 mile journey of wonderment at the Beauty of the Columbia Gorge. In the hills just past the Dalles you will find Biggs Junction and the crossroads with highway 97. From here it is south to Wasco and Sherman county, or north to Washington and Maryhill Museum!
Sherman County lies between the deep canyons of the John Day River, The Deschutes and the mighty Columbia River.
Wasco is at an elevation of 1,249 feet. The town gets 300 days of sunshine a year. Wasco is a high and dry plateau with golden and green rolling hills of wheat and the growing force of the windmills.
